Description of the Lot
Up for auction is a substantial lot of 1,600 grams (1.6 kg) of natural red coral (Corallium rubrum), derived from artisanal processing residues from the Mediterranean (Sardinia/Torre del Greco).
• Type: Raw fragments ("Frantuma" or chips).
• Total Weight: 1.6 kg.
• Color: Natural bright red, intense scarlet. Untreated, not dyed.
• Conditions: Raw material, opaque as from extraction/processing, ready to be shaped/turned or used for inlays and premium "chip" jewelry.
• Size/Grade: Mixed (from small twigs to flakes), ideal for multi-cut work or restoration of antique artifacts.
