Mesolithic bone/antler harpoon tip (12 cm) – Doggerland North Sea

Beautifully preserved, large prehistoric bone harpoon tip (barbed point) from the Mesolithic (ca. 9000 – 6000 BC).
This superb piece comes from the sunken landscape of Doggerland (North Sea). The object bears an authentic old collection inscription ("ex A.W.")

Specifications & Features:
Dating: Mesolithic / Middle Stone Age (ca. 11,000 to 8,000 years old).
Material: Fossilized bone or antler (dark brown North Sea patina).
Length: 12 cm (a rare large and sturdy size).
Condition: Excellent. The characteristic barbs on the side are sharp, deep and undamaged. The tip tapers beautifully.
Origin: North Sea material from Doggerland.
