Swiss-made vintage musical cigarette case in brass with frosted glass, dating from 1960–1970, 24 cm high, 11 cm wide and 11 cm deep, gold-toned brass with decorative reliefs and an internal musical mechanism, in good condition.
Description from the seller
It is a musical cigarette case that exudes the theatrical glamour so characteristic of Hollywood Regency from the mid-20th century: a functional object turned decorative piece, where the shine of metal and the delicacy of crystal work together to create a small domestic luxury.
The body is made of gold-plated brass, polished and luminous, with that warm tone that catches the light and returns it with a soft radiance. The metal surfaces are not flat or cold: they have curves, small reliefs, and a shaping that recalls the decorative metalwork of the era, when even everyday objects were designed to attract attention. Above that golden framework rises the perfect crystal, frosted and decorated with vegetal motifs and white scrolls, a direct nod to the exuberant yet elegant taste of Hollywood Regency.
The lid, also in brass, is crowned with a soft dome and a small handle that adds verticality and presence. The base, rounded and solid, balances the piece and gives it that jewel-like air that characterizes mid-20th-century luxury accessories. Inside, the musical mechanism—hidden, discreet—adds an unexpected touch: not only does it hold cigarettes, but it turns the act of opening it into a small sonic ritual.
Taken together, it is a piece that blends function, fantasy, and shine with the natural ease of the period’s cinematic décor. A object designed to stand out on a coffee table, a sideboard, or a display cabinet, where its combination of gold-plated brass and worked crystal acts as a small spotlight of sophistication.
Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
