Bordalo II is one of the most internationally recognised Portuguese contemporary artists of his generation. A self-described "artivist", his practice is rooted in ecology, waste and over-consumption - creating monumental animal sculptures and murals from discarded materials such as tyres, car parts and plastic waste. His work has been installed across Europe, the United States and Asia.
