Wikingerzeit living sword, an original iron Viking sword with a solid one-piece pommel dating from the 9th–11th century, 89.8 cm long, blade about 55 mm wide, weight 1217 g, balance point roughly 10 cm in front of the guard, with blade, guard, grip and pommel preserved, acquired from Privatsammlung in 2001, originated from France and previously owned in Germany, authentic and officially recognized.

Wikingerzeitliches Schwert mit tauschiertem Knauf, vermutlich 9.–11. Jahrhundert. Erhalten sind Klinge, Parierstange, Angel und ein massiver einteiliger Knauf. Die breite, flache Hohlkehle, die rundliche Spitze und die Proportionen sprechen für ein hiebbetontes Schwert des Mittelalters
Der Knauf ist sattel-/dachförmig gearbeitet und zeigt beidseitig Reste von Tauschierung bzw. eingelegter Verzierung. Die Parierstange ist kurz und massiv, die Angel verjüngt sich zum Knauf hin.
Maße: Gesamtlänge 89,8 cm, Klingenbreite ca. 55 mm, Knauf 66 × 65 mm, Angel 100 mm × max. 25 mm, Gewicht 1217 g, Balancepunkt ca. 10 cm vor der Parierstange.
Zustand, gut mit etwas schartigen Schneiden. Klinge leicht verbogen.
Die letzten drei Fotos sind bei Tageslicht gemacht worden und entsprechen farblich ziemlich dem Original!!!
