Description from the seller
“Origin of Flame” XL is a visual artwork by Nik Haku that captures the silent encounter between human fragility and the Earth's untamed force. A solitary figure stands before an erupting volcano, suspended between darkness and incandescent light. Reduced to a silhouette, the body becomes both witness and ritual, while molten reds, deep blacks, and fading twilight dissolve the boundary between flesh and fire.
Artist's statement:
This piece is about surrendering to forces beyond our control. I wanted the figure to become almost invisible against the eruption, reminding us that nature does not destroy out of anger—it transforms out of necessity. In the presence of fire, the ego disappears, leaving only awe, silence, and the feeling of standing before something infinitely older than ourselves.mains after contact with sea, time, and solitude—traces that cannot be seen, yet continue to shape us.
Artwork details:

About the artist:
I’m Nik Haku, a visual artist and photographer exploring the space between the real and the altered.
My practice blends multiple techniques —primarily fine art photography, complemented by painting— to construct images that move fluidly between mediums. My work spans portraiture and landscapes, beginning with photographic capture and evolving through painting, AI, and digital manipulation. I aim to create visual worlds where memory, identity, and imagined space overlap, dissolving the boundaries between what is seen and what is felt.
