Description from the seller
Mountains and Red from the Derivas series
One-off work
In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops a research around the landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed but move, transform, and continually reconfigure themselves.
The works are situated in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitional planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons, and geographic features that do not belong to a specific place, but to an experience of landscape in constant change.
The concept of extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking the environment beyond its physical limits. Space dilates, the horizon dissolves, and depth is constructed through layers that fold, open, and overlap. In this context, relief ceases to be stable and becomes a living matter, subjected to processes of mutation.
Color acts as structure and energy. The ranges are organized in transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests displacement, atmosphere, and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, building a landscape that never presents itself as definitive.
In Derivas, the landscape stops being an image and becomes a process: a way of perception in which matter, color, and time are in a state of permanent transformation.
Authenticity of the work:
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the painting surface. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of realization, and Ella Suárez's signature. The work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which validates its origin and authorship.
Note: Clarifying:
Reference images may show slight tonal variations with respect to the original work due to lighting in spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between display devices. The photographs have been made with the greatest possible care.
Shipping details:
The work will be shipped rolled in a protective tube, a method that guarantees safety during transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. The canvas includes an additional 5 cm margin on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which can be carried out by the buyer or by a professional.
