Description from the seller
White lilies from the Floral System series
Original work
In the Floral System, Ella Suárez approaches the flower as a constantly expanding complex structure. Far from a descriptive representation, the series proposes an approach where the floral form unfolds as a field of study: a system of relationships between center, periphery, rhythm, and growth.
The works are built from a close, magnifying gaze that amplifies the scale and transforms perception. The petals, openings, and internal cores expand to occupy the plane, generating compositions where the flower ceases to be a recognizable object and becomes an organic architecture.
The concept of an expanded flower runs through the series as a way of thinking about nature from within. The forms open, fold, and overlap, revealing dynamics of tension and balance that refer to processes of development, transformation, and unfolding.
Color acts as structure and energy. The ranges are organized into transitions that build depth and vibrancy, shaping a space where each plane responds to an internal logic. The relationship between light, matter, and form creates an intense, almost tactile presence that places the viewer in a sense of proximity.
In the Floral System, the flower is understood as a system and a process: a living form that is not represented but constructed and transformed in the painting.
