Item Description
The Victor TT-81 is a high-grade quartz-locked direct drive turntable manufactured in Japan by Victor Company of Japan (JVC). Bearing the "TT-81 Quartz Locked Direct Drive" designation on its platter ring, this model was positioned at the upper end of Victor's turntable lineup and is appreciated today for its robust direct drive mechanism and quartz speed stabilization. The plinth is finished in a rich rosewood-grain veneer, giving the unit a distinctly refined appearance that holds up well visually even after decades of use.

The unit comes fitted with a tonearm and the original acrylic dust cover is included. The platter mat is a suede-type material in dark brown, as seen in the photographs. The underside reveals the large direct drive motor assembly and an original "Made in Japan" serial number label (No. 15000-series), confirming its Japanese domestic manufacture. A ground wire terminal (GND) is present on the underside. The power cable shows some stickiness consistent with age-related rubber deterioration.

One of the four feet is missing. The unit powers on and basic operation has been confirmed at 60 Hz (Japanese domestic power frequency). The manufacturer is Victor Company of Japan (JVC); drive system is quartz-locked direct drive. The dust cover is acrylic and included, though it shows age-related haze. The tonearm is fitted; headshell and cartridge are not included.

Condition
The cabinet shows scratches, scuffs, and general wear consistent with age and use. The power cable has some stickiness. One foot is missing. The acrylic dust cover has light haze and minor scratches. Overall, the unit is in used but functional condition.
