Clean lines, functional design and a timeless look come together in this beautiful vintage aluminum coat rack with an integrated hat rack. The design is a fine example of the postwar European design tradition, where simplicity and ease of use were central.
The coat rack is made of lightweight aluminum and features a top rack with parallel bars and a row of seven adjustable hooks. Thanks to the open construction, it looks airy and modern, while at the same time offering a lot of practical hanging space.
Such aluminum coat racks were widely used from the 1950s to the 1970s in homes, offices and public buildings. The minimalist design shows clear influences of Bauhaus and Mid-Century Modern, in which industrial materials and a sober form prevail.
A versatile object that fits exceptionally well in both vintage interiors and modern or industrial interiors.
Condition
Good vintage condition with normal signs of use appropriate for its age, including light scratches, small discolorations and a nicely developed patina on the aluminum. In addition, the bottom front frame is slightly bent on one side, as visible in the photos. This does not affect the stability or functionality of the coat rack.
