Bartolo Mascarello is the patriarch of the most traditionalist group of Barolo enthusiasts, who have always rejected the use of barrique and, instead of vinifying the individual vineyards, have always preferred blending the grapes from different plots, in this case all located in Barolo and La Morra, to produce a single Barolo, with unique harmony and balance.
Since Maria Teresa, Bartolo Mascarello's daughter, has come into the company, while remaining faithful to her father's production standards, his wines have gained greater finesse and delicacy.
It is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the Canubbi, San Lorenzo, Rué, Rocche vineyards and aged in large Slavonian oak casks.
The Barolo Bartolo Mascarello has a garnet-red color. On the nose, there are dominant notes of dried flowers, red berries and spices. On the palate it is imposing due to its remarkable structure, warm and enveloping, with tannins of extraordinary finesse and a long, persistent finish.
To pair with truffled red meats, braises, beef roasts and aged hard cheeses.
