Emeterio Ovejero Marcos (1948-2007) is a Spanish painter born in Madrid on December 30, 1948, recognized for his figurative and expressive work in oil on canvas.
He studied Drawing and Painting at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, where he finished in 1971. Subsequently he perfected his technique with professors Sánchez Arjona and Maestro Barrando.
In 1974 he moved to Seville, joining the artistic group “San Juan de Azna”.
His work centers on figurative painting, with a marked expressive character. Many of his pieces explore loneliness, fears and the human condition.
First Prize for Drawing in the Madrid City Hall Collective Exhibition (1961).
Third Prize for Oil Painting in the Madrid City Hall Collective Exhibition (1968).
Silver Medal in the III Andalusian and Extremaduran Painting Contest (Seville, 1974).
Diploma of Honor in the XXVIII ART-PRESS Hall Biennial Exhibition (Diario Pueblo, 1974).
