Antique Sterling Silver Pocket Watch Chain with Enamel Prize Medal Fob (1920)
Description:
A beautiful and historically interesting British antique horological lot featuring a substantial, solid Sterling Silver pocket watch chain paired with a highly detailed, hand-enameled presentation prize fob medal.
The front of the medal fob features a beautifully preserved, vibrant blue enamel border with the inscription: "LINCOLN ABOVE-HILL ANGLING LEAGUE" surrounding a textured silver core with a central shield in red and white enamel, topped by a Fleur-de-lis
The reverse of the medal is fully engraved with its historical presentation details and features a crisp set of British hallmarks
Maker's Mark: FATTORINI & SONS / BRADFORD stamped at the top.
Engraving: 1920 / 2nd TEAM / DUKE WILLIAM / D. HATFIELD
Town Mark: Lion Passant & Assay Office mark (Birmingham).
Date Letter: v (dating the medal precisely to 1920).
