Scheurich West German pottery is repurposed into a mid-century modern cordless lamp with a handmade Italian lampshade, blue glaze with reptile-like pattern, total height about 33 cm (vase ~12 cm; shade ~23 cm diameter), a rechargeable USB‑C LED module up to 12 hours and dimmable via remote.
Description from the seller
Price for lamp including shade and wireless LED light source.
This wireless accent lamp was crafted from an original vintage vase by Scheurich Keramik from the 1960s/70s. The compact, bulbous form is defined by an exceptional glaze with a fine reptile-like pattern and organic floral structures. Especially the strong blue coloration gives the ceramics an almost cloud-like depth and makes the small vase very present despite its restrained size.
The vase was combined with a handmade lampshade made of high-quality Italian design fabric. The motif shows a surreal Space-Age landscape in intense blue, orange and rose tones and recalls futuristic illustrations of the 1970s. The warm light creates a nearly painterly spatial effect.
Dimensions:
– Total lamp height: approx. 33 cm
– Vase: approx. 12 cm high
– Lampshade: approx. 23 cm diameter, approx. 21 cm high
Conversion to a lamp – gentle on the object & reversible:
The vase was converted into a lamp without drilling or irreversible alterations. The original ceramic body remained entirely intact, preserving the character and the collector's value of the vintage ceramic.
Tech – wireless & flexible:
The lamp is powered by a rechargeable LED light source and can be charged via USB-C. Light duration up to about 12 hours. The light source is dimmable; various colors can be set with a remote control. Replacement light sources are readily available at any time. Thanks to its wireless use, the lamp is ideal for sideboard, shelf, nightstand, or balcony and terrace.
An atmospheric one-off between West German Pottery, Space Age and contemporary spatial staging – especially lovely as accent lighting in the evening.
