Mantel clock - Antique inspired Brass - 1970-1980

Elegant French-style mantel clock, cast brass with a gilded finish, rich ornamentation and a strong decorative presence.

The piece features an elaborately pierced framework with columns, vegetal motifs and floral details, crowned by a cherub holding a bird.

At the bottom stand two facing birds, lending balance and refinement to the whole. The circular dial displays Roman numerals on enamel cartouches, framed by a lush Rococo-inspired decoration.

Its design recalls late 19th-century ornamental French clocks, although it could also be a carefully crafted decorative reproduction from the mid-20th century.

Ideal as a collectible piece, classic decoration, or vintage-romantic interior design.

Condition: good overall, in keeping with age and use, with slight signs of wear on the gilding.
