Description from the seller
Thermal ice bucket, signed by the renowned French house Christofle, dating from the early 1900s. A piece of the utmost class. The item stands out for its sober, rigorous lines, adorned with mouldings of concentric ring flutings, completed by sturdy side handles with a hinged ring. It is complete with its original lid featuring a coordinated knob.
This model originally began as a thermal container. The bottom part of the lid features white protective insulation in plastic or resin.
The Christofle hallmark is a true historical passport for the piece. At the bottom it clearly bears the factory mark engraved “CHRISTOFLE” accompanied by the hallmark with the scales and the number “30” which attests to the gram weight of the excellent silvering of the maison of the era. The central symbol shows a balance flanked by two letters C (one on each side). The two letters stand for Charles Christofle, the founder of the maison.
Condition: It presents itself in authentically vintage, lived-in condition: it shows a dense pattern of superficial scratches, signs of use, and some light and small dents.
