Beautiful bronze Empire clock in good condition with a rope-regulated pendulum suspension. The central movement is crowned by a lyre and an open music book, flanked by two classical musicians: on the left a figure with a string instrument and on the right a female musician with a lyre.
The richly decorated case features a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, framed by finely worked floral and musical motifs. The broad base is adorned with reliefs of playing cupids and classical ornamentation, all in keeping with the theme of music and art.
The piece in gilded bronze and the detailed finish point to a high-quality French atelier. This type of pendule was manufactured as a representative interior piece for salons and mansions. Comes with a pendulum and key.
