Description from the seller
Lode Sebregts is an Antwerp painter and poster designer who devoted himself to portraits, landscapes and still lifes.
He made his debut under the influence of Art Deco and Modernism, but soon evolved toward an impressionist/expressionist style. This is especially evident in the loose brushwork he uses in his landscapes. After World War II he witnessed a new artistic liberation and increasingly experimented himself in his works.
Sebregts was a teacher at SISA and at the Herman Teirlinck Studio.
Works by his hand are housed, among others, in the KMSKA, the Plantin Moretus Museum and the Letterenhuis.
