ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY:

The Catalan painter based in Godella, Alfonso Ortuño (Barcelona, 1925 – Godella 2011), who perfected his technique at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, traveled to Valencia at the age of ten and began painting from a very young age.

Ortuño was a contemporary of painters such as Bronchú of Godella, Mir, Segrelles, or Berenguer, and belonged to a generation of artists who began in impressionism and evolved into their own distinctive style.

The work of Alfonso Ortuño, although it had a grayer period, in his maturity color became a major protagonist. The palette knife was his brush in many of his works, in his landscapes, his rain scenes, seascapes, portraits, and still lifes, and he painted scenes of the Mediterranean inspired by his feelings.
