Description from the seller

Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 (Nikon F mount)
Designer: Nikon

Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.

The Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 was one of Nikon's very first autofocus zoom lenses, introduced in 1986 alongside the F-501 (N2020) — Nikon's first mass-market AF SLR. This compact standard zoom shares its well-regarded 8-elements-in-7-groups optical design with the manual-focus Ai-S 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5, and it also offers a close-focus (macro) capability at the wide end. The copy offered here is the later cosmetic version (produced 1989-1994), recognisable by its broad rubberised zoom ring. Light and pocketable at around 260g, it remains a charming and affordable "normal" zoom for both film and digital Nikon shooters.

Mount and compatibility:
Nikon F mount, screw-drive autofocus. The lens has no built-in motor; autofocus is driven by the camera body, and there is no AF/MF switch on the lens (this is selected on the body).
It autofocuses on Nikon film AF SLRs and on Nikon DSLRs that have a built-in focus motor (for example the D7000/D7100/D7200/D7500, D300/D500, D600/D610/D750/D780, D800/D810/D850, and D1–D5 series).
On entry-level Nikon DSLRs that do not have a built-in focus motor (such as the D3000 and D5000 series, D40 and D60), it will NOT autofocus and must be focused manually.
The lens has an aperture ring; on modern bodies, set it to the minimum aperture (22) and lock it, then control the aperture from the camera.
On Nikon Z mirrorless cameras used with the FTZ adapter, autofocus is not available (the FTZ has no screw-drive motor); the lens can still be used in manual focus.
