AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

RODEO is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the energy, risk, and legendary character of the American West. The work captures one of the most intense moments of the rodeo: the instant when rider and animal face off in a test of strength, balance, and determination.

The composition is dominated by the powerful silhouette of a bull in full motion, while the cowboy maintains control with a steady hand and the lasso raised above his head. Behind them, a large red circle acts as a symbolic sun, intensifying the dramatic sensation of the scene and directing the gaze toward the center of the action.

The artist develops the image through a visual language with a strong graphic impact, characterized by bold black outlines, solid contrasts, and a limited palette of blues, reds, creams, and blacks. This aesthetics recalls vintage advertising posters and North American graphic tradition, reinterpreted from a contemporary sensibility close to pop art.

Beyond the sports representation, RODEO speaks of the spirit of perseverance, courage in the face of uncertainty, and the cultural fascination that the myth of the West continues to exert in the collective imagination. The tension between man and animal becomes here a metaphor for the constant struggle between control and freedom.

With its visual strength and dynamic composition, this work adds character, movement, and personality to any contemporary art collection, especially for those who feel affinity with Western iconography, American culture, and retro-inspired graphic aesthetics.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
