Description from the seller
Title
Antique "Brisé" Perforated Fan in a Frame - Lacework with Gold Detailing
Description
Elegant and refined collectible: an antique era fan model "Brisé", entirely perforated and finely worked into faux lace, presented inside a modern rectangular frame with a dark mat, designed for wall display.
Details and Features:
This is a brisé model, characterized by the absence of the top page (sheet). It is composed entirely of shaped slats that overlap, connected at the top by a thread (here inserted directly into the mounting).
The Workmanship:
The surface is extraordinarily rich, decorated with a very fine geometric and floral pierced pattern reminiscent of Alençon lace. Across the whole sheet delicate floral motifs and profiles are subtly visible, originally embellished with gold paint.
The Frame:
Rectangular wooden frame with a silvered finish and dark vein lines, equipped with protective glass. The dark background is ideal because it creates the perfect color contrast, highlighting the transparency of the perforations.
Condition:
The object is antique and preserved within its framing.
The fan shows a splendid patina of the times. The perforations are overall well preserved.
Frame and Back:
The frame is solid and in good vintage condition.
A piece of great class, perfect for philatelic collectors, antique textiles, and vintage fashion accessories.
