Description from the seller

Virgin Mary standing, with arms open in an attitude of intercession, surrounded by saints and faithful. This type of iconography is related to the devotion to the “Joy of all who sorrow” (Всех скорбящих Радость, Vsekh Skorbyashchikh Radost), one of the most venerable Marian representations in the Russian tradition.

The Virgin occupies the center of the scene, larger than the rest of the figures.
She appears with arms outstretched, symbol of protection and intercession.
On both sides there are groups of people who seem to come to her seeking help.
In the upper left is discernible a small image of the Mandylion or Holy Face of Christ.
Golden vegetal motifs flank the Virgin.
