Description from the seller
This large piece is made of clear crystal, with jet eyes. There is debate within the Swarovski community on whether this is a turtle or tortoise. It was a member of the Endangered Species group, and was designed by Max Schreck. It is 24cm long, and weighs 3.88kg. The piece was introduced in 1981. The crystal has the Swarovski block trademark, as shown in the final picture. The packaging is the original fitted material designed to hold the piece. I have sold several Swarovski giants, but never seen this type of packaging before. It is very heavy but soft, moulded rubberised material. The whole package weighs over 5 kilograms. It is made of proper full lead crystal and is extremely shiny, a polarising filter was used in the photography to reduce reflections.
I am told by a retired Swarovski retailer that the package indicates this was intended as a retail display item and not intended for sale.
I use Royal Mail Tracked 48 for most items.
