Splendid and fascinating original mechanical cuckoo clock from the Black Forest (Germany), dating from the mid-20th century.
This model stands out from the classic and more common naturalistic subjects thanks to the fine upper crest carved at the top that depicts a hunting dog posed in a lifelike, three-dimensional stance on the rock, finely worked in the details of its fur and posture.
The case and the entire front structure are adorned with rich three-dimensional carvings showing oak leaves and interlaced branches, typical of the highest German artisanal tradition.
The dark dial features hands decorated in a classic style and Roman numeral indices applied in contrast.
