Uro Tooth - Bos primigenius - 21 cm - 15 cm - 3 cm - (1)

Fascinating object from the collection of a naturalist from Salento (Southern Italy). It is a gilded frame containing three teeth of the aurochs (Bos primigenius), a prehistoric bovine. They were found in Salento; the presence of the aurochs in that area is, in fact, well documented.
Very likely dating to the early decades of the 20th century.
The measurements refer to the whole object; the teeth measure about 5 cm in length each.
It shows the inevitable signs of aging, some touch-ups to the old frame, but nothing that spoils its beauty.
