Candleholder - Patinated bronze

An extremely charming and rare pair of antique Austrian Jugendstil figurine candle holders from the period around 1910 (Vienna).

The outstanding feature of this pair is the artfully designed base: it is crafted in the shape of a realistically rolled sheet music page from solid brass, on which the staff lines and musical notes are engraved in detail.

On each of these sheet music pages sits a finely worked, dark patinated miniature cat figure, crafted entirely in the style of the famous Viennese bronze craftsmanship. The two cats are oriented mirror-wise to each other, so they look at each other harmoniously when displayed.

The contrast between the warmly glossy brass columns and the detailed dark cat sculptures gives this set exceptional visual dynamism and high collector appeal.

Condition:

The candelabra are in good, age-appropriate original condition with a beautiful, untouched patina of age.
