Tapestry - 140 cm - 115 cm - handwoven

Authentic wedding dowry rug from Cap Bon, Tunisia, made entirely by hand around the 1970s.

This family piece is woven in 100% wool using traditional Tunisian artisanal techniques. It features a rich geometric design inspired by Berber and Arab-Andalusian heritage, characteristic of ceremonial rugs made to form the dowry of a young bride.

The rug is in excellent condition. The original colors are remarkably preserved and the weave is regular and of high quality. A red fabric protective lining has been added to the back to preserve the old weaving, a common practice for rugs kept within families.
