Mercedes-Benz 320CE SPORTLINE, model year 1992.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

GENERAL:

Mercedes-Benz 320CE Coupé (C124) first registered on 10 November 1992 in Belgium and imported to Spain in 1998. This is a unit equipped with the Mercedes-Benz M104 3,199 cc inline-six engine paired with an automatic Mercedes-Benz transmission. The vehicle currently has Spanish historic plate and has spent much of its life within the same family environment.

The unit was idle for roughly from 2003 until its recent restoration and recovery. In recent years a substantial mechanical refresh has been performed with the aim of restoring the vehicle to a reliable running and preservation state.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:

The bodywork is in good overall condition. The car was repainted about two years ago, presently presenting a glossy and uniform finish. It retains an aesthetic preparation typical of its era carried out in Belgium, including VH special bumpers with integrated fog lights, modified grille without a central star, rear spoiler, lowered suspension, white indicators, and AMG-style wheels.

No significant structural problems or visible corrosion are observed. The windows are in good general condition. Some seals show wear appropriate for a vehicle over thirty years old. The car shows small cosmetic details in line with its age, not affecting use or overall presentation.

MECHANICS:

The vehicle starts correctly in both cold and hot conditions. The M104 engine runs smoothly and performs well in both city and highway driving. The automatic transmission shifts normally.

During the restoration, numerous mechanical tasks were carried out, including complete replacement of the Mercedes-Benz engine wiring, renewal of the fuel system, replacement of fuel pumps, filters, brake maintenance, fluids, shock absorbers, tires, and various wear components.

Currently the vehicle is running and used normally. It does not present any known serious mechanical problems. Pending items include the electrical adjustment of the mirrors not functioning correctly and minor issues typical of a classic vehicle in use.

INTERIOR:

The interior retains its original Mercedes-Benz configuration with gray leather upholstery and wood trim. The cabin shows good overall preservation considering the vehicle’s age.

The driver's seat shows wear on the entry side and the central armrest shows aesthetic deterioration. The headlining is in good condition. The main instrumentation works correctly.

The original audio system has been replaced with a modern Alpine radio accompanied by a renewed sound installation. The vehicle has power windows and original Mercedes-Benz equipment. This unit is not equipped with automatic climate control and currently does not have functional air conditioning.

WEAR ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT ON THE SIDE FROM USE, INCLUDING THE ARMREST AS WELL. MIRROR ADJUSTMENT DOES NOT WORK. SMALL SCRAPE ON THE FRONT BUMPER SIDE, NOT NOTICEABLE.

DOCUMENTATION:

It is delivered with Spanish registration, Spanish technical data sheet, and documentation corresponding to its listing as a historic vehicle. Abundant documentation relating to the vehicle is kept, including restoration and recent maintenance invoices.

A Mercedes-Benz maintenance book from Belgium is also preserved with historical maintenance stamps. There is documentary history that certifies much of the work carried out during the vehicle’s recovery.

PICKUP:

The vehicle is located in Zaragoza, Spain. The buyer must arrange collection and transport. All necessary documentation for transfer and export, if required, will be provided.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a unit with a very singular history. According to available documentation, the vehicle arrived from Belgium to Spain in 1998. It remained stored for more than twenty years until it was recovered and restored recently.

One of the most notable aspects is the significant mechanical recovery work performed to return the car to road use after decades of inactivity. It is a relatively uncommon unit due to its combination of M104 3.2 engine, C124 Coupé body, historic plate, and period-correct aesthetic preparation. An ideal vehicle for collectors and Mercedes-Benz classic enthusiasts from the nineties.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
