In Underwater 2.0, Hione returns to the underwater universe, not to repeat it, but to reinterpret it. If the first work inaugurated this environment as a space of contemplation and discovery, this second piece dives into a more intense dimension, where the water ceases to be merely a backdrop and comes to represent a psychological state.
The figure, suspended between the surface and the depth, faces the observer in an instant of absolute vulnerability. The silent scream, amplified by the distortion of the water, becomes a metaphor for anxiety, the urgency to breathe, and the constant struggle between control and chaos. The fish, delicate elements that coexist with the tension of the composition, recall the natural serenity of the ocean, creating a contrast with the human expression.
Through a technique that combines realism with a contemporary approach to color and light, Hione explores how water alters the perception of reality. The refractions, reflections, and movement envelop the figure in an atmosphere where the boundary between the physical world and the emotional world dissolves.
Underwater 2.0 is not a narrative continuation of the first work, but a conceptual evolution. Sharing the same environment, it presents a new perspective on the human experience, inviting the viewer to reflect on what remains invisible beneath the surface: emotions, fears, and the capacity to continue to emerge even when everything seems to push to the bottom.
