Description from the seller
Philips EL6021 Dynamic Desk Microphone with PA Base – 1950s – In Excellent Condition – No Reserve
An exceptional and highly collectible Philips EL6021 dynamic omnidirectional desk microphone, manufactured in the Netherlands during the mid-1950s. Combining elegant industrial design with professional broadcast and public address functionality, this complete microphone station features the original die-cast aluminum microphone, flexible chrome gooseneck, dedicated desktop control base, original connection cables, and handwritten wiring instructions.
Originally intended for public address systems, control rooms, paging installations, and intercom applications, the EL6021 is instantly recognizable by its distinctive streamlined microphone head finished in Philips' signature hammered grey coating and the iconic red Philips shield emblem.
This example is fully working and remains in excellent vintage condition. The microphone retains its original impedance selector (50 / 500 / 10,000 Ω), integrated slide switch, illuminated indicator lamp, and push-button control on the matching desk base.
Included are the original extension cables together with the handwritten Dutch wiring diagram documenting the custom cable configuration—an interesting period addition that illustrates its professional working life.
From the Collection of a Radio Shop Owner.
Philips was among Europe's pioneers in professional communication equipment during the post-war era. The EL6021 became a popular choice for municipal buildings, factories, railway stations, studios, and industrial PA installations, and today is appreciated both as a functional microphone and as an outstanding example of mid-century Dutch industrial design.
