Anton Heyboer, Ik heb lief, original chalk drawing, signed, 1980–1990, 44 × 34 cm including frame, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Due to his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent life was reflected in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world,' referring to his high volume of artistic production. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on which his abstract artworks were created. Yet his paintings and etchings always retain figurative elements. Heyboer also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions: 26 x 19 cm
Dimensions with frame: 44 x 34 cm
Provenance: Purchased at Anton Heyboer’s studio
