Paesaggio montano, an oil on panel landscape by Ugo Celada da Virgilio (1930–1940), Italy, original edition, hand-signed on front and back, framed with a simple wooden front frame and a gilded back frame, image size 47 x 56 cm, overall 57 x 66 cm, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
This oil on board by artist Ugo Celada da Virgilio (1895-1995) depicts a suggestive glimpse of a mountain village. On the front, there is a wide and solid mountainous landscape characterized by a powerful rendering of nature and architectures, with a figure along a dirt road. A distinctive feature is that the back of the board is also signed and presents a second painting; the composition shows an uphill road between rustic buildings, with a bell tower emerging in the background. Two women in traditional dresses add a colorful focal point to the scene, realized with a thick, tactile brushstroke typical of his painterly realism.
The work is signed by the artist at the bottom on both the front piece and the back one.
The painting is framed with a simple wood frame on the front and a golden one on the back.
The dimensions of the board are: 47x56 cm
The dimensions of the frame enclosing the painting are 57x66 cm
The painting was purchased from a private collector and has not been restored or retouched at any point.
The painting will be shipped without glass for safety reasons, but a retaining option can be requested; in this case the seller assumes no liability for any damage caused by potential breakage during transport.
The painting will be shipped insured, with professional packaging and trackable shipping.
Bidders are invited to carefully observe the photographs, as they form an integral part of the description; the artwork viewed in the images will be the same that will be delivered to your address!
