Description from the seller
Gabriel Teodoro Martinelli Silva (Guarulhos, 18 June 2001) is a Brazilian-Italian footballer who typically plays as a forward. He left Ituano FC in 2019 for Arsenal FC, with whom he has since won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield. Martinelli won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, before making his Brazil national team debut in 2022, in which he participated in the 2022 and 2026 World Cups and the 2024 Copa América.
Martinelli was named Player of the Month at his club twice for his performances in December 2021 and January 2022. In those months he scored goals against West Ham United and Leeds United. His goal against the latter was Arsenal FC's 7,000th goal at the top level of English football, making the club the third to reach that milestone.
On 11 February 2022 Martinelli received his first red card in professional football, after receiving yellow cards for two fouls in six seconds in a 0–1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He started in the starting XI when Arsenal FC won the FA Community Shield against Manchester City on 6 August 2023 via a penalty shootout. He extended his contract with Arsenal FC on 3 February 2023 by three years, until mid-2027 with an option for another year.
Martinelli missed, as the only player, his penalty in the shootout against Sporting CP in the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League on 16 March 2023, which saw Arsenal FC eliminated. At the end of the 2022/23 season he, like teammates Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka, was nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Season, a prize ultimately won by Erling Haaland.
Martinelli had that season equalled Roberto Firmino’s record for most goals by a Brazilian in a single Premier League season. He scored as a substitute on 8 October 2023 for a late winner for Arsenal FC against titleholders Manchester City (1–0). On 24 October 2023 he scored on his UEFA Champions League debut; Arsenal FC won 1–2 against Sevilla FC.
