The largest fossil shell, Campanile giganteum, is one of the most imposing gastropods ever to have lived on Earth, measuring 52 cm in length in a straight line, a giant from the Eocene, that is 37 million years old, with its matrix teeming with varied mollusks. The whole is completely natural, a magnificent fossil, rare in this state of preservation.
