AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Early FED 50mm f/3.5 folding lens – M39 screw mount – probably with German optics and Leitz components

For sale is an early FED 50mm f/3.5 folding lens (Collapse Lens) with an M39 screw mount. Due to its construction and age, it is an early specimen that should be of particular interest to collectors. In some early FED lenses, optical elements of German origin were still used. According to literature, it is also likely that these early examples contain components of German origin or parts related to Leitz or manufactured following Leitz designs.

Features:
• Focal length: 50 mm
• Aperture: f/3.5
• M39 screw mount
• Foldable (retractable) construction
• With original front and rear caps

Condition:
• No visible fungus in the lens.
• The aperture ring turns smoothly and evenly.
• The optics are in good condition for their age.
• The remaining optical and mechanical condition can be inferred from the photos; please examine them carefully.
• The lens has not been tested on a camera. Therefore, beyond the points mentioned above, no functional guarantee can be given.

An interesting lens for FED-, Zorki-, or other M39 rangefinder cameras, as well as for collectors of historical photographic technology. A rare early Soviet lens, which is of particular historical interest due to the historical connection between Leica and FED.
