Description from the seller
Aphex 188A
Aphex presents the new 188, an eight-channel microphone preamplifier remotely controllable via Ethernet or MIDI, through the same devices that can control the model 1788A, namely from the 1788A‑RC controller or from the software (PC or Mac) 1788A‑SW or still, using the optional interface model 5200, from an Avid control surface or a Yamaha digital mixer. Aphex 188 has eight preamplifiers, each with transformer-isolated input, polarity switch and selectable 80 Hz high-pass filter. The preamps offer 26 dB of fixed gain and 39 dB variable gain, for a total of 65 dB and each input also provides a ‑26 dB attenuator. The channel analog outputs are available on a D-sub 25 connector, while the digital ADAT outputs are available on two TOSlink connectors, these configurable as redundant or SMUX to allow use with sampling frequencies up to 96 kHz. The internal clock of the 188 can operate at 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz and there is a word clock output. It also accepts inputs from external clocks operating from 44.1 to 96 kHz.
