Satyr with Frog – glazed porcelain figurine, Lladró, Spain, ca. 1960.
Professionally shipped – more than 850 five-star reviews worldwide.
This glazed porcelain figurine from Lladró, titled Satyr with Frog (Spanish name: Satiro Sentado Con Rana), depicts a seated satyr holding a pan flute to his mouth. At his feet sits a small frog. The scene alludes to classical mythological themes around nature, music, and the boundary between human and animal.
The figurine was designed by Juan Huerta and belongs to the early Lladró production from the 1970s. The glossy finish emphasizes the flowing forms and the sober color palette characteristic of this period.
Released in 1971 and produced until 1975, under item number 01001093. The underside bears an embossed Lladró mark that was used in the period 1965–1970.
Height approx. 24 cm; the figurine is in good condition with light signs of wear appropriate to age and material.
