Fabrication Belge - Duray - Bust, Buste d'enfant - 31 cm - Plaster

Beautiful bust of a child signed Duray, Belgian-made, bearing the inscription “Fab. Belge” under the base as well as a recessed numbering “6 / 5520”.

The piece depicts a young child with a calm yet expressive face, a finely worked curly hairstyle, and drapery sculpted around the shoulders. The overall piece shows a fine decorative quality, in the Belle Époque / late 19th – early 20th century taste.

The bust rests on a cylindrical base with a gilded bronze patina, adorned with a beaded frieze and vertical reliefs. The contrast between the light tone of the bust, the warm hues of the hair, and the patinated base gives the object a very striking presence.

Signature Duray incised on the back, numbering 6 / 5520, and the mention Fab. Belge visible under the base.
Beautiful old decorative piece or antique-style, ideal for a collection, cabinet of curiosities, classical, romantic, or antique decoration.
