Description from the seller
Liturgical chalice with cup plated in silver - 19th century
Elegant 19th-century liturgical chalice, characterized by a cup made with silver plating with gilded interior, mounted on a stem and foot in silvery metal, it has no hallmarks.
The slender, sober form recalls 19th-century ecclesiastical models, with a circular molded base, turned central knop, and a slightly flared cup. The interior gilding, intended for contact with the consecrated wine, is still well preserved and testifies to the quality of the workmanship.
The stem and foot, made of silvery metal, show a pleasant vintage patina and normal signs of aging. The cup exhibits slight wear of the gilding on the upper edge, consistent with its age and with natural liturgical use.
A piece of great charm, ideal for collectors of sacred art, religious antiquities, and as an important decorative element in historic houses, professional studios, or classically styled environments.
Good condition. Normal signs of time and use. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
Dimensions
Height: 23.5 cm
Cup diameter: 9 cm
Base diameter: 12 cm
Our interior designer/architect recommends:
Perfect to enrich a collection of sacred art or to embellish a library, an office, or a historic residence, where its sober elegance harmonizes with ancient books, bronzes, and devotional objects.
Guaranteed careful packaging entrusted to industry professionals.
