Description from the seller
An exceptionally rare, elegant, and harmonious 14-piece antique glassware set made of authentic uranium glass (annagreen) from the early Art Deco period (the 1910s/1920s).
All 14 glasses are in a fabulous condition and glow an intensely neon-green under a UV lamp, with the faceted stems and the engraving breaking the light spectacularly.
The glasses stand out for their refined, machine-scratched and acid-etched double 'guilloche' chain-etching. Stylistically, the glasses—with their characteristic hexagonal, faceted knob stems—bear a direct and beautiful resemblance to the historical tableware from Val Saint Lambert.
The set is beautifully and completely composed of four different functional sizes (a total of 14 pieces):
* 3x Large glasses (Wine/Champagne flutes): Height: 17.5 cm | Diameter: 8.5 cm | Weight: 195 g – 209 g
* 4x Medium glasses (Wine glasses): Height: 14.5 cm | Diameter: 8 cm | Weight: 141 g – 191 g
* 4x Small glasses (Port/Sherry glasses): Height: 14 cm | Diameter: 6 cm | Weight: 111 g – 125 g
* 3x Very small glasses (Liqueur/Refreshment glasses): Height: 11.5 cm | Diameter: 4 cm | Weight: 65 g – 76 g
Interesting historical detail: when viewed directly from above in daylight, three glasses show a subtle warm pink/salmon glow (characteristic of early selenium-uranium mixtures), while one glass exhibits a cool, clear blue-tinged crystal glow, among the four small glasses. The substantial variations in weight and thickness underscore the early, authentically artisanal production process of this antique crystal.
Condition:
The entire 14-piece collection is in excellent, undamaged antique condition. Fully intact: absolutely NO chips, cracks, or restorations. The glass produces a clear ringing tone.
Shipping:
Packed with the utmost care (box-in-box method with ample bubble wrap) and shipped insured with Track & Trace only. Of course, pickup is also possible.
