Official document and representation of the BMW M3 E30, presented in 1986 as BMW Motorsport's most radical answer to the demands of Group A in the DTM and touring car championships. It wasn't simply a sporty version of the 3 Series: it was a car conceived from the very first stroke to dominate circuits and transfer that experience to the road.

The BMW M3 E30 is the very definition of homologation turned into legend. Its widened body, muscular wheel arches, the more raked windshield and the unmistakable rear wing were not aesthetic gestures, but technical solutions designed to optimize aerodynamics and high-speed stability. Every detail — from the flatter rear window to the specific panels — responded to a clear objective: to win.

Under its hood lay the mythical four-cylinder S14, a 2.3-liter naturally aspirated engine (later 2.5 in Evolution versions) capable of exceeding 200 hp in its early variants and reaching even higher figures in special editions. It revved up with unmistakable mechanical fury, delivering power progressively and precisely, accompanied by a manual gearbox that demanded the total involvement of the driver.

Its dynamic balance, communicative steering and pure rear-wheel drive offered a direct, analog driving experience, without electronic filters. The M3 E30 wasn’t driven: it was piloted. It was a car that rewarded technique, sensitivity and commitment at the wheel.

In competition, it accumulated titles in the DTM, the European Touring Car Championship and multiple national championships, becoming the most successful touring car of its era. On the street, it transformed into a symbol of character, German precision and uncompromising sporting spirit.

Today, the BMW M3 E30 is much more than a classic: it is an absolute benchmark, a cult piece that represents the pure essence of BMW Motorsport and the golden age of analogue sports cars.
