Hand-Painted Antique Venetian Side Table from the Late 18th Century
Refined Venetian side table from the end of the 1700s, entirely hand-painted, an example of elegant lagoon decorative art. The shaped top with rounded corners is enriched by a rich multicolored decoration depicting large flowers in red and gold tones, intertwined with deep green foliage and birds arranged in a symmetric composition, all enclosed by a geometric border along the outer edge.
The lower apron, also finely decorated with scrolls and ornamental motifs on an ochre background, features a small central knob that conceals an internal storage compartment. The turned, shaped central shaft is fully painted with stylized floral elements, resting on three curved, flowing legs, continued in harmony with the overall ornamental scheme.
