The Cypraecassis rufa, also known as the red helmet or "Bullmouth Helmet", is a large mollusk widespread in the Indo-Pacific.

It is famous for its massive, thick, and colorful shell (red-orange/brown), historically used for the carving of cameos.

It is therefore a shell collected mainly for decorative or jewelry purposes.
