Wharfedale - 505.2 Speaker set

Much like the vinyl version, the Wharfedale 505.2 is a fine allround loudspeaker that will deliver-a lively and big hearted sound without being too fussy about the rest of the system. Recommendation is clearly appropriate: only you can decide whether to pay the extra for the mahogany veneer.

The audiophile entrant is the 505.2. The ‘build-ring’ bayonet driver fixing, an internal ring-brace in the cabinet and the 0213 aluminium dome tweeter (with a very high breakupfrequencyof 37kHz) all support the pedigree. There’s even a newfour.-layer voice coil for the 200mm polypropylene bass unit, which extends its power handling. Crossover is hardwire, and the construction standard is to BS5750.

To deliver this product properly, it is carefully packed in very strong boxes, thereby wrapped in bubble wrap with lots of padding.
