Description from the seller

Set of 2 easels

Antique wooden easel (pickup only)

This object is an antique or vintage wooden easel (atelier easel), presumably made of solid oak.

This type of easel is a functional studio stand that was widely used by artists especially around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century (the Edwardian period). Features of this easel: Adjustable mechanism:

The easel features a central crossbar with a metal ratchet system or rack-and-pinion. This allows the lower board to be manually adjusted in height to stably support canvases of different sizes.

Top clamp: At the top there is a wooden T-shaped clamp. It can be slid down to securely pin a painting or stretcher frame at the top.

Solid H-frame: The construction rests on a sturdy, wide wooden base (H-shaped) that provides maximum stability during painting or displaying artworks.

Such furniture is nowadays very popular in interior design, both for functional use in a studio and as a decorative piece in a living room to display a large painting. Dimensions: 55/40/230

Dimensions: 55/40/230

This is an authentic easel from an unknown artist in the Antwerp region, Belgium. With the necessary signs of use, paint stains and a beautiful patina. Possibly very small repairs needed given its age.

A vintage travel easel (often called a field easel or portable/trunk easel) is the perfect companion for painting outdoors (en plein air). These easels combine a compact, foldable design with a charming, nostalgic appearance.

The brand mark on this wooden easel is the logo of the well-known manufacturer Mabef.

Dimensions: 180 cm open, 80 cm folded

Pickup only in the outskirts of Brussels, Belgium. !!!!!
