Description from the seller
Important gilded bronze votive crown, 19th century - Europe
Large procession or statue crown, in finely chiselled and gilded bronze, richly adorned with colored stones and cut crystals, high-quality workmanship, probably from Central Europe or Southern Europe (Italy / Austria).
The structure consists of eight openwork arches, decorated with relief foliate scrolls, converging at a summit globe surmounted by a trilobed cross set with a blue cabochon. The decoration is particularly meticulous, alternating emerald green, ruby red and pink oval stones, accompanied by small faceted white crystals evoking old-cut diamonds (glass paste or crystal, not tested).
The lower band is also openwork, adorned with floral motifs and inlaid with polychrome stones, giving the whole piece a strong liturgical and ceremonial character. The old gilding is uniform, with a beautiful patina.
Religious metalwork of high quality, intended for a crowned Virgin or saint statue, or for processional use.
Dimensions: Height: 28 cm x Inner diameter (head circumference): 11.5 cm
Condition: Very good overall condition. A few micro-scratches to the gilding, slight irregularities in the settings visible under magnification, with no major losses. Stable structure.
The photos are an integral part of the object description and complete its presentation. They allow you to appreciate its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
