Description from the seller

Seller's description

My works in 1981: plein air paintings in the alleys of Rome
This is one of the works I painted directly in the alleys of Rome and that I sold later to tourists. It was 1981, and the more paintings I completed, the more I sold. I used Masonite as support, a material that allowed rapid drying of the color and which, due to its small size, was ideal to be conveniently put in a suitcase.
As for the technique, the alleys of Rome were often immortalized with an impressionist or post-impressionist style, using quick brushstrokes and vivid colors to capture the vibrant atmosphere and authenticity of these streets. The small trattorias with their typical Roman dishes such as carbonara, amatriciana, and abbacchio, represented the essence of daily Roman life, a union between history, tradition and conviviality that fused perfectly with the historic architecture and the warm colors of the alleys, creating a unique sensory experience for residents and visitors.
