This elegant Dutch fall-front secretaire is a refined piece of Louis XV style, dating from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
Executed with a characteristic flowing silhouette on both the sides and the front, the piece rests on tall, graceful cabriole legs, adorned with gilded and chased bronze fittings. The entire surface is decorated with rich, detailed inlay in floral and vegetal motifs typical of Dutch cabinetmaking tradition, standing out against a background of fine premium wood. The closed fall-front presents a central inlaid panel with a heraldic coat of arms depicting a rampant lion. When opened, the fall reveals an interior chest richly inlaid with floral motifs and a central fortified tower, completed by a set of serpentine drawers and pigeonholes designed for correspondence.
Dimension: 97x38x60 cm
Good overall condition; to be considered a vintage item, with some signs of wear and material defects due to normal use over time, as shown in the photos.
