An attractive early 20th century gentleman's walking cane, featuring a warm honey-coloured hardwood shaft fitted with an engraved white metal pommel bearing the name "B. Downs" in elegant Old English (blackletter) script.

The handle is decorated with hand-engraved geometric borders and star motifs, while the shaft retains a rich, aged patina developed over decades of use. The cane also retains its original white metal strap mount with an attractive buckle design, adding an extra decorative detail.

Measuring approximately 82 cm (32.3 inches) in length, this is a charming example of an early 20th century gentleman's walking cane, suitable for collectors of antique canes, walking sticks and period accessories.

Good antique condition with an attractive age-related patina. The engraved white metal handle remains firmly attached and displays surface scratches, small dents and wear consistent with age and use. The original buckle-pattern strap mount is present and secure. The original ferrule is no longer present. The hardwood shaft has scattered marks, scratches and areas of wear acquired over years of use but remains straight and structurally sound.

Please study the photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the description.
A handsome and increasingly collectible early 20th century walking cane, enhanced by its personalised "B. Downs" engraving in traditional Old English script and its elegant white metal fittings

1900-1910 - Good condition - used with small signs of aging & blemishes
